It's October!!! I know I am a little bit late in acknowledging that fact, but I guess I've been trying to think about what we've been up to during the last month. Also, Conner is addicted to the laptop-he wants it whenever is it on-and he's SO determined to play with it. In result, I am not able to use the computer much when he is awake or else he usually ends up hurt because he's trying to climb up and get the computer. Sad day!!

I love the month of October. Not because I am a huge halloween person-certainly NOT a scary movie lover-but because we have so many good things going on: General Conference, the leaves are turning beautiful colors, pumpkin spice candles go on sale (wahoo!!) and because of the cooler weather I feel justified in making/eating high caloric comfort food. : ) It's been kind of a tradition-unofficially-for Dave and I to get have donuts & hot chocolate the first time it gets really cold (enough for Dave to justify turning on our heater) or the first snow comes. Monday it was pretty cold when we woke up and when Dave turned on the heat I called for the donuts! We had a super fun day since Dave had the day off due to Columbus Day (Love those Banker's Holidays!!). I did put up a few decorations, probably the least I've ever put up thus far in our marriage-mostly due to the fact that Conner can and does get into everything-and surprisingly enough Dave did not comment on it!! First time ever especially at Halloween that he hasn't complained about the decorations. We're making progress!! : )

For the last month or so I have been playing co-ed volleyball in the stake. It's really been fun to get out once a week, have some fun, get more exercise, and just have a little break. The first week that I showed up to play, I thought all of my past volleyball skills would be up for the challenge, but I was mistaken!! Once upon a time (about 6 years ago) I was a pretty decent volleyball player especially when it came to serving and that first week I couldn't even get the ball over the net!!! I suppose I could have surved the ball underhand and gotten it over, but frankly my bruised and beaten pride wouldn't allow for anything put an overhand serve. Now that we're in week 5 it's come back a little better-I do get the ball over the net and occasionally have an "ace" serve, but those skills are a little rusty!! I finally talked Dave into coming to play last week since we have to have 2 guys or we forfeit and I knew one of the other guys would be gone. Dave begrudgingly came-while some girls from the ward whose parents also play watched Conner on the side lines) and I think he ended up having some fun too.

Conner is growing as fast as ever!! Just over a month ago he started to crawl and now he crawls everywhere, pulls himself to his feet and walks along the couch, love, love, LOVES to walk holding onto fingers and has even tried a few steps on his own (he always falls, but he is trying)-I don't think walking is too far off. The problem with him climbing everywhere is that he also falls a lot. He is getting better, but somedays-like today-he's fallen and hit his head 3 times already-it makes me so sad and feel like a horrible mom!! We're thinking about buying him a helmet to wear during the day-hopefully he'll be able to balance better soon!!

He's such a sneeky little guy sometimes-quietly crawling here and there. Yesterday I was cleaning the fridge and was almost done and looked down to see Conner pulling out my carton of eggs onto the floor. I didn't even know he was in the kitchen!! Gratefully my eggs did not end up cracked all over the floor, but he constantly appears out of no where and tries to get into whatever I am doing. It certainly makes things interesting!! He's also enjoying bath time so much more!! He's figured out how to splash and that he can move around and play!! It's so cute!! He loves playing in the bathroom in general-knocking off any shampo bottles into the tub, pounding on the toilet and climbing cupboards. Needless to say we've taken to shutting the bathroom door all of the time!!!

Conner is FINALLY back to eating baby food. He pretty well went on strike during most of August and September. He would gag and choke on ANYTHING that we put in his mouth. I don't know what his deal was, but now we're cruising in comparison with cereal, fruit and veggie every day. WOW! Some things he likes better than other-of course-but we couldn't help but take a video of him eating carrots. Carrots used to be his all time favorite-now it's slow going to get any veggie but sweet potatoes down. We thought this was highly humurous and thought we would share.

Dave has been working out in the yard and cleaning up the garden in preperation for winter. I do go out and help when I can, but we're sorting rocks and I can't lift the sifter by myself and Conner doesn't enjoy being strapped to the car seat watching for very long. Consequently, Dave has picked up my slack. He's such a good husband and amazing dad!! Conner and I love it when he comes home and we get some "daddy time". He has has also been helping our neighbor put up a retaining wall around his house-no small feat. They work all day Saturdays (two so far) and Dave is the one doing the heavy lifting-these bricks are 80 lbs. a peice and there are a TON of them!!! Our neighbor gave us a snow blower, a little kids wagon, and a chest freezer in return for Dave's help, so it's benefiting everyone, but once again Dave is picking up the slack-I get a all the stuff and he does all the work. This, among other things, have really made me appreciate him a lot more lately and I'm so grateful for all he does to provide for and support our little family.

We are also grateful for the opportunity to watch Conference a while ago. We had some friends, Graeber and Amber, over to watch conference, play games etc. which was really fun. We're so glad they are close-they help keep us sane and give us someone to hang out wtih. (Thanks Amber for the pictures!)We owe them another cat still-which we're working on-so they can eliminate their mouse problem, but our older cats are harder to catch. At the begining of this year we had 12 cats and now we're down to four-hopefully it will be two soon and we'll stop spending so much money on cat food!! I feel like we're feeding the whole neighborhood and I've had enough! : ) Hope all is well for everyone-Have a Happy October!

The month of August has (basically) passed us by!!

So! I cannot believe that we've pretty well exhausted August and that September is just around the bend. Time has just flown and with it has gone summer. It is already getting cold at nights...it seems like we wait and wait for it to warm up, it goes straight to 90 for a while and then we're back to 30's at night and 60's-70's during some of the day. Just as long as the snow holds off for a while, I won't complain too much! : )

This last month has been jammed packed with fun, fun and more fun! The first weekend (the 6th and 7th) my family had a get together at Heise Hot Springs (about 15 miles away from where we live). We all camped and swam and I had planned a bunch of games and activities for it and then we had 50+ mile per hour winds...wahoo! So fun when you're camping, but gratefully my dad came prepared and we were fine. It was super fun to have everyone one together (except my brother Nathan who is on a mission in North Carolina for 3 more months) and for all the baby's to be together for the first time!!

We also celebrated Dave's 27th birthday...he's getting to be an old man. : ) We've know each other for 5 years now-Dave had just turned 22, and me 18 when we met the first week or so of September 2005. Now we've been married for 3 1/2 years and have a 6 month old baby...If some one had asked me 5 years ago where I would be today, I probably would have said on a mission, or maybe just getting married, but I'm so grateful things have happened the way they have. I once said something to Dave about waiting for me to go on a mission and come home and get married and he told me he wouldn't wait around that long, that I had to take him or leave him so (obviously) I took him and ran!! : )

We had a super fun week last week with Dave's mom. She stayed with us Mon-Sat. and we did all kinds of fun, family things!! For example: Pictures of grandsons, FHE, cookout, pizza/movie night, shopping, canning, temple sealings, lunch outings and more. It was so fun to get to see her and spend time together...and I really appreciate Becky's, Dave's, and my mom's help since I had a wisdom tooth pulled on Thursday (the last one) and I was a little under the weather. THANK YOU!!!

We are planning on coming to Houston for Christmas...HOORAY!!!! This is a minor miracle in and of itself. The bank Dave works at pretty doesn't allow employees to take vacation in December, so we are THRILLED that because of the Switzerland situation, we get to go.

(Hop/Crawl)
Conner if officially CRAWLING!!! He was doing this hop/army crawl thing for the last few week, but just over the weekend he's switched to a full out crawl. It is crazy how fast he gets into things...now plug-in's and wires and pretty much everything is a problem now. I'm going to have to set up his pack and play in the living room so I can put him there for a few minutes and not have him into everything!!! He's always been a little mover, so I can't say I'm too surprised, but I am totally content to wait a while longer for the walking to commence!!

(Real Deal Crawl)

So I just have to share these pictures with you because I LOVE IT! Becky got this for Conner and it's acutally a 12 month hoodie, but it was so cute (and cold yesterday!!) that I put it on him and he loved it!! Most of you probably know that Dave is a big football fan and so when I saw this hoodie, "Daddy loves me more than football" I just had to have it. Such a cute kid! : )

Hope everyone is doing well...please get lots of extra sleep for me this week as Conner has decided to wake up every 2-3 hours at night (probably because he's cutting his first tooth) so we're having parties all night long!!

JULY!!!!

Grand Teton National Park

So, the past month has been super fun...we've had all kinds of excitment from Conner's new tricks, birthdays, and trips, to trees almost falling on the house!! Phew!!

Conner sleeping during the parade

We went to Victor for the 4th of July weekend and Conner experianced his first parade...yah!! Only he was asleep for most of the time. : ( The night before we had fireworks out at my brother's ranch and Conner DID NOT like that...they were too loud and close for his comfort. (Not to mention it was past his bedtime!!)

That same weekend (Dave didn't have to work Monday) we went with my parents to Grand Teton National Park through Jackson and that was fun. We saw pretty lakes and mountains and a baby fawn with it's mom right by the car!!! It was really neat.

Fawn & Mom

We also saw elk, buffalo, moose, antelope and I can't remember what else. : / Conner did a really good job being in the car all day and enjoyed the little nature hike we went on in between in all. We also got a super cute baseball outfit for Conner that is SO ADORABLE!! We love it!!

Baseball outfit

Cute kid!

A few weeks ago, we came home Saturday night after a super fun cook out at Abby & Steven's, were relaxing in the living room and heard this aweful creaking noise. The wind was blowing really hard and it ripped off a HUGE part of our Cottonwood right by the house!! It took Dave several days after work to get it all cut up and moved out of the front yard...we we're super blessed that it didn't hit the house!!

Standing up alone...with the help of the couch. : )

Conner has liked to stand and has been able to stand up while holding onto fingers for several months now. He's always been a little mover and is always wriggling around. This week he started to walk while holding onto fingers...he's not a fast walker, but he is putting one foot in front of the other-Crazy!! Neither Dave nor I had ever see him do that with out us trying to get him to move his feet so we were blown away Monday night.

Peace!! : )

He's been able to roll from tummy to back for a while now, but all of a sudden he rolls everywhere, all of the time!! I put him down and turn away for a minute and he's on the other side of the room...he's a fast little bugger!!! He must of decided he likes tummy time now too, because he's constantly on his tummy playing or pulling on something.

Reading with Dad

Dave and I have been reading quite often recently and Conner has decided that he loves to pull on the pages!! It's really cute if he's not doing it to you. : )
Now that Conner's officially 5 months old, I think I'll start the baby food. He tries to eat anything that gets close to him and he likes bread, but hates his cereal. Is it better to just mash up regular veggies, or buy the Gerber stuff? Can't believe how fast he grows!!

This week's milestones...

So...this past week has been crazy full of achievements for Conner-he really is growing up so fast!!

First of all, on Saturday Conner turned 4 months old!! I can hardly believe it's been that long since he was born-I am losing my little baby! This also means that I can start him on cereal (every time I tell Dave this he says, "He can't have cherrios yet!" and then I tell him it's RICE cereal-funny!) which means it's about time to bring the high-chair up-crazy!!

Secondly, Conner has discovered his tongue and LOVES to spit with it and stick it out. At first he would just do it if I would do it to him first, but then he just started to do it all day long! We thought it was so cute until my mom mentioned how "cute" it will be once he starts eating food and spits it everywhere...oops. I tried to capture it on camera, but the little stinker stopped whenever I tried so..no pic.

Monday night we were just sitting down for dinner and I decided to give Conner some tummy time. I put him down and turned my back for MAYBE three seconds and he was lying on his back...WHAT?!? I told Dave and he didn't believe it so we put Conner on his tummy again and sure enough he rolled right over. Dave thought this was highly entertaining and insisted on Conner doing it three more times until he was satisfied and Conner was mad! He had only turned over once before-like a month ago and that was from back to tummy, not vis versa so we really were surprised! He's always hated tummy time and now almost as soon as I put him down he rolls right over, but if I put him back he starts to get upset. He's rather opinionated and it's quite funny!

[After rolling over]

Yesterday (Tuesday) I took Conner to the doctor for his 4 month check-up. He now weighs 15 lbs. and is 26 inches long which puts him in the 84% for heigth-WOW!! Two months ago his was 44% in everything so that was quite a jump! Maybe he inherited his grandpa's genes (either one since their both 6'2 +) and will be much taller than Dave or I-it wouldn't surprise me! He did really well with his shots this time and got more upset when the doctor picked him up (probably startled him) than when he got his shots! GOOD JOB CONNER!

And last, but certainly not least...he's slept through the night for almost a week-YES!! I hope I'm not jinxing myself by saying it, but I think we've pretty much made it to sleeping 9-10 hours straight and it's great. It's funny because he's slept through the night a handful of random times throughout the last two months and whenever he did I woke up in a panic, but I don't anymore-weird. The sad part is that Dave wants to move him into his room and now I don't have an excuse not to! : (

Dave and I are also doing well-enjoying the summer weather finally! We planted our first garden this month-thanks mostly to Dave-and are looking forward to summer activities. I've been working in our flower beds-which is a working progress and still needs some new flowers-so that's been my outdoor project thus far. Dave is on a softball team in the ward and I'm hoping they'll start a basketball/volleyball league as well. We've enjoyed reunions on both our sides this month and hope there will be more soon. It's crazy to think that the Fourth of July is next weekend, but I'm super excited as it is one of my favorite holidays and is exactly two weeks before my birthday-wahoo!

The Bumbo and the almost 4 month old...

So, we got a Bumbo for Conner and he LOVES it!! He is such a happy boy sitting up by himself, and it's a nice change from sitting in his swing/bouncer all day. (Well not ALL day...I do hold him a lot..."too much" as far as Dave's concerned : ) It helps me to get a few more things done around the house, plus it helps Conner's neck muscles to get stronger!!

This Saturday Conner will be 4 MONTHS OLD!! Time has just flown!! I keep thinking that I don't want him to grow so fast, but every new thing he does is so fun and he keeps getting cuter and cuter...amazing! He has Dave and I wrapped around his little finger-we love him to pieces!!!

However...this week his nick name has been "Conner Crank" because he's been a mad baby!! Usuallly he's happy and smiling, but not this week. At first I thought he was just tired because we took him camping last week for three days in the rain, (he was a trooper!! He slept better than Dave and I did!) but he was cranky and seemed hungry and drooly and kept shoving everything in his mouth. Finally I got a teething ring out and he loved it...unfortunately. So I'm pretty sure he's teething (wahoo) fun for us! : )

The good thing is that he's pretty much on a set schedule during the day and he takes regular hour long naps (most days) so that's been great. Now I need to get him back to waking up once a night instead of two or three times. : )

The last year...

So, I've been meaning to start a blog for the past year now, and just haven't been able to talk my self into it until now. Hopefully, this will be an update for everyone on us and will better prompt me to write down our families' experiances. I apologize ahead of time for any boringness (if that's even a word) but hope this will be a fun and new activity!!

Wer're living in Rigby, Idaho right now and we really like it here. When we first bought our house (a little red brick house [seen above]...a special requirement of Dave's) I was really hesitant to move not only to Rigby, I wasn't overly open-minded about being in Jefferson county. : ) But!! By the time we got the house fixed up-thanks to Dave and Mark's hard work-it was growing on me. I was working in I.F. at a credit union and Dave was working in I.F. as a loan officer...which he is still doing. I quit my job since it was now a 30 min. commute, I was 3+ months pregnant with Conner and I was hoping to substitute teach here in Rigby.

One of the best advantages of living here is that we're close to family. My parents and 3 of my brothers live within an hour of us, plus Dave's sister Abby and her husband Steven live in Rexburg. It's so great to have family around!!

Our biggest news is that we had our little baby boy, Conner David Morgan, on February 19th, 2010. He weighed 8 lbs. 4 oz, was 20.5 inches long. We love him so much!! Dave wanted a little boy so much and I love my boys!! He's growing so fast and is such a good baby. Big thanks to my mom, well both of our parents, for all of the help and other family members and friends who helped out and have been so supportive...we love you!!

Since then, we've been getting to experiance the wonderful role of parents! It's super fun now that Conner doesn't wake up every two hours every night and he's not yet mobile . : ) I will enjoy this stage while it lasts!!! All and all, we love being parents to our little boy-he brings us such joy and is so much fun to play with. So exciting that he has so many cousins his age to play with (for those of you who don't know, Conner had 6 other cousins born within 7 months of him...yes the Morgan's and the Kearsley's are taking seriously the command to multiply and replenishing the earth : ). We look forward to lots of family time!!!

So, now that I have taken the time to create our blog, I think that everyone else should too-I want to know what YOU are up to!
